Please step through each of the options which pertain to your card to insure that your card is configured as you desire. 5 Configuration options for the ICOM422/485A include: Base address Interrupt level Input and output termination RS-422/RS-485 communication protocol CLKX1/X4 ][ THelpTopic3 Options Base Address The Base Address command under the Options menu will guide you through the process of selecting an appropriate I/O port base address for your I/O card. ][ THelpTopic- Options IRQ Level >The ICOM422/485A has the ability to generate an interrupt when one of the input channels experiences a change of state. The IRQ Level selection option under Options menu will guide you through the process of configuring your ICOM422/485A to generate the interrupt signal you require whenever a change of state occurs. ][ THelpTopic# Options Echo The COM-2S allows you to select whether the card leaves the receive line on. This means that every character that is transmitted is also received by the port (i.e. echoed back). In RS-232 mode, this is automatic, so it would be redundant to install the jumper when in that mode. ][ THelpTopic+ Options Auto RTS kThe COM-2S allows you to select whether the card will control the RTS line through hardware or not. On standard RS422/485 cards, software must control the Ready To Send (RTS) line in order to specify whether the software will be transmitting data or listening for it. RS-422 is limited to a two node connection. This program will help guide you through the process of setting up your card. Menus are accessed by pressing Alt-Z, where Z is the first letter of the menu. For example, the "Options" menu is pulled down by Alt-O. 8 Begin this program with the card out of the computer. Step through each of the menu items to configure the Base Address, IRQ, Communication Protocol, Port Termination, and Clock oscillation by setting the jumpers manually according to the diagrams.
